Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of camera do you use? I currently use a Nikon D800 as my primary camera body. I have used Nikon equipment over 40 years progressing from film cameras to the latested in digital cameras today. I have a full range of Nikon lenses ranging from 14mm to 400mm. The only lense I use that is not a Nikon lense is a Sigma 300mm to 800mm because Nikon does not make a zoom lense of this size.

Do you use Photoshop? All digital photographs require processing. Most people simply let the camera process the image for them. While this is convient and fast it does not allow the artist to infuse their creative vision into the final result. My goal is the creation of fine art, not to create a snapshot. So rather than turning creative control over to the camera manufacture I prefer to control the creative process myself. I always shoot in RAW and do the post processing myself. It is not unusual for me to spend hours, days, weeks or even months as I work to infuse my vision into the final piece of art.

Do you use HDR? From time to time I utilize High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography as one of the many tools in my tool box to accomplish specific techniques that serve me as I work to develop my artistic vision for a particular piece of art.

Do you have a gallery? I do not. Unfortunately, a gallery is very cost and time prohibitive for me at the present. I operate out of my home which is where I create all of my prints, mats and frames. Currently I only sell via art shows, websites, and direct contact. My schedule permiting I am happy to accomidate a private gallery showing in my home. Please contact me if this is something you would like to schedule.
